Running Light

Comox traffic, checkin’ in
I’m just away from the Harbour
I don’t feel like playin’ by the rules
I singled up, when I was home
Cut her loose, she’s on her own
Now I’m runnin’ light
With a heavy heart on the wheel

She kept on changing, like the tide
Till she stripped me of my pride
I should have seen, it coming, long ago
‘Cause my heart kept callin’ Mayday
Now the only thing I can say
I’m runnin’ light, with a heavy heart on the wheel

No ETA, would be OK
But I don’t have the right of way
Since she left, I’m not under command
Destination, anywhere
That her memory can’t find me
I’m runnin’ light, with a heavy heart on the wheel

Thank you traffic
Checkin’ out
I know I’ll miss he, there’s no doubt
I’ll just have to find my way, and carry on
I’ll get over her in time
There’s a whole new book of tides
Now I’m runnin’ light, with a heavy heart on the wheel

Yes I’m runnin’ light, and sad is how I feel.
